Built Different: La Sportiva Launches Spring 2026 Footwear Line

The Skwama Lite, Ultra Raptor 3, and Prodigio 2 lead the charge with redesigned fits, upgraded cushioning, and tools for next-level progression
BOULDER, Colo. (Jun 10, 2025) – La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain gear, today announced its Spring 2026 footwear collection. Anchored by the re-engineered Ultra Raptor 3, the lineup also introduces the Skwama Lite, a new climbing model built to support intermediate athletes, and a completely updated Prodigio 2, designed to meet the needs of trail runners looking for one shoe that can truly do it all. Rounding out the collection is a refined range of performance-focused youth and rental climbing shoes, aimed at meeting the demands of both growing athletes and high-traffic indoor environments.
“At La Sportiva, we design with purpose,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “From updating the Ultra Raptor’s fit to fine-tuning the feel of the Prodigio 2, every change reflects what we’ve learned from the athletes and communities who trust our gear. This line is about progression, supporting mountain enthusiasts as they push into new terrain, chase new goals, and redefine what’s possible.”
The Ultra Raptor has long been a go-to for hikers tackling challenging, technical days in the mountains. With the third version, La Sportiva brings a modern fit and feel to a classic platform. The shoe features a wider, more accommodating last, a redesigned ankle collar, and a new 85% recycled ripstop mesh upper that balances comfort, breathability and durability. A welded TPU lacing harness adds structure and support, while the FriXion® White outsole provides confidence on steep alpine trails. Available in $159 low-cut and $179 low-cut GTX versions, the Ultra Raptor 3 is made for the demands of today’s hiker.
The Ultra Raptor 3 Mid GTX builds on the success of its predecessors with a host of updates that improve the fit, support, and performance of this iconic boot. Compared to the previous model, the redesigned ankle collar features a smoother flex and a more anatomical shape, offering improved comfort without compromising structure. Extended panel reinforcements improve durability, while the Transkinetic EVO heel counter boosts stability under load. A GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining rounds out the package, making this $209 boot ideal for long miles, wet trails, and variable mountain terrain.
The Skwama Lite is built for climbers progressing in skill, confidence, and terrain, bringing La Sportiva’s signature performance to a more forgiving, comfort-focused package. Inspired by the original Skwama, this new model blends precision and adaptability with a soft microfiber upper, updated heel construction, and a dynamic closure system that delivers a secure, responsive fit. A 4mm FriXion® Black sole provides reliable grip and sensitivity ideal for modern gyms, techy boulders, and outdoor leads. This new shoe is available for men and women and has an MSRP of $139.
La Sportiva is also launching the Prodigio 2, a new version of one of La Sportiva’s most versatile mountain running shoes. From technical ridgelines to daily runs, the Prodigio 2 delivers a smooth, responsive ride in a lightweight package. The updated XFlow™ nitrogen-infused midsole offers increased cushioning and a more energetic rebound, while a repositioned rocker and added forefoot cushion enhance protection and performance. A new wider fit improves comfort, and the midfoot wrapping system ensures lockdown and stability on difficult terrain. Finished with a grippy FriXion® Red outsole, the $155 Prodigio 2 is built to move with you, no matter the destination.
For the next generation of climbers, the new $109 Solution Comp JR offers elite-level performance in a design built specifically for younger athletes. Modeled after the adult version, it features a Vibram® XS Grip2 half-sole for maximum grip, a fast-lacing system for secure closure, and reinforcements for toe and heel hooking. A kid-specific last ensures proper fit for growing feet without compromising precision.
The Fall 2025 footwear collection will be available at select specialty retailers and at www.lasportivausa.com in the spring of 2026. Select samples for media will be available prior to the release of the line.
